The Federal Aviation Administration said the company requested a ground stop just before 7 a.m. Eastern for all of its flights. The ground stop was lifted around 8 a.m. Eastern. “A vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning. That issue has been resolved and flights have resumed," American Airlines said in a statement. "We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience this morning. It’s all hands on deck as our team is working diligently to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible. Some American Airlines traveler's at the Buffalo airport felt the slight hiccup on the busiest travel day of the year. "Well, my flight got delayed, so I missed my connecting flight, and then I'm just getting home too late so now I think I'm driving," said Kailey Bolender, an American Airlines passenger who missed a connecting flight to North Carolina. "Just trying to get home before Christmas." Others passengers went through with their travel day without a hitch. "Smooth sailing, no traffic getting here, zero line at American Airlines and it looks like security is pretty quiet," said Jenna Seiff, heading back home to Philadelphia.
