Published 5:37 pm Sunday, December 29, 2024 By Jason O. Boyd GREENSBORO, N.C. — Northside High School football coach Keith Boyd has a lot of accomplishments on his resume. However, he’s never coached in an all-star game ... until last Sunday. Boyd was one of the assistant coaches for the East squad in the annual East-West All-Star Game. Football players from around the state were chosen to take part in the event, which used to be played in the summer but has been moved to the winter. It was played last Sunday in its new slot for the second straight year. “ This is my very first experience, and it was great,” Boyd said. “From what I understand, you get nominated by someone throughout the state or in Eastern North Carolina and it goes before other people and then you’re selected. I’m not familiar with the process anyway, but we all got put up and then got called to ask if we’d do it and then you had to accept the nomination.” Boyd said he was chosen for the task over a year ago when the event was still being played in the summer. He and his wife left Tuesday for Greensboro and, with Jacksonville coach Beau Williams — the East head coach — and the rest of the staff began getting the team ready for the game. There was little time for other things like Christmas shopping or seeing the sights of the area. “We practiced Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,” Boyd said. “A couple of those practices being two-a-days and then we played Sunday afternoon. “It was a pretty rigorous schedule. From the time you get up until you get in at 9, 9:30, 10 o’clock, you’re with the team practicing or doing certain events with the teams like bowling or going to the movies. So, you’re basically around them from sunup to sundown.” Each team had 36 players. Teams were limited to the offensive and defensive plays they could run. There was no blitzing and each team had to submit specific offensive formations. “So, you have to really keep it simple and, you know, you just let your players play,” Boyd said. “But within the game planning, you know, we had coaches meetings and stuff like that to figure out, kind of some of the things we wanted to do.” The game didn’t turn out in favor of the East, which dropped a 23-7 decision. Still, Boyd said it was a great overall experience. He even learned a few things he hopes to incorporate into his team for the next football season. “That was the great part about it was, you know, hanging with the coaches and the players, people you didn’t really know,” Boyd said. “You made some relationships that hopefully will carry on. We had an awesome coaching staff, and it was fun hanging out with them and players as well.” Football will remain in his schedule as the family was heading to Annapolis, Md., for the Military Bowl between ECU and N.C. State on Saturday. “ We’re a football family,” Boyd said. “We love it. Life’s short. You better take all the advantages and the opportunities you have to spend time with your family and your friends. That’s what we love doing. We love going and watching the Pirates play.”

Carbullido Elementary School passed its annual Department of Public Health and Social Services sanitation inspections with a grade of “C,” according to the Guam Department of Education. The inspections, which took place on Nov. 18 and 19, resulted in the school receiving 28 demerits and the equivalent rating reflects a “satisfactory level of compliance with health and safety standards,” GDOE added. This marks an improvement from the previous year, when the school received 39 demerits, also corresponding to a “C” grade. The reduction in demerits indicates a positive trend in the school’s commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for its students and staff, GDOE said. Education Superintendent Erik Swanson, in a statement, highlights the importance of leadership and team effort in educational institutions. BP Carbullido Elementary School Principal Lisa Cooper-Nurse said “improvements to the school facility were made to address previous demerits.” “We thank our parents, volunteers, faculty, staff, our mayor, and GDOE Facilities and Maintenance for their hard work and support in preparing the school for inspection,” she said. “The community’s support and the school’s proactive measures to address previous concerns have evidently paid off, showcasing a collaborative effort towards excellence in education and public health.”Dodgers Owe $1B+ in Contract Deferrals to Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, More Players

Moreover, the interconnectedness of all things also meant that Tenghag's actions had unintended consequences that reverberated far beyond his initial intentions. Small oversights and miscalculations, seemingly insignificant at first, snowballed into major setbacks that eroded the foundation of his endeavors. The interconnected nature of reality ensured that every misstep, every misjudgment, had a cascading effect that contributed to the ultimate outcome – an outcome that, regrettably, bore little resemblance to Tenghag's original vision.Chelsea's attacking prowess has been on full display this season, with their dynamic forwards tearing through opposition defenses with ease. Restoring Solar Panel Efficacy With Golden State Pressure Washing 12-10-2024 09:50 PM CET | Politics, Law & Society Press release from: ABNewswire San Jose, CA - Solar panels provide San Jose's residents and business owners with an efficient way of generating electricity. By turning sunlight into power, property owners save money on their property bills and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. It is for this reason that maintaining solar panel cleanliness is important. When solar panels accumulate layers of debris, it hinders their ability to generate electricity. Additionally, dirty solar panels are less attractive and will negatively affect the appearance of any property. Golden State Pressure Washing, [ http://www.goldenstatepws.com ] a local business that provides solar panel cleaning services, [ https://www.goldenstatepws.com/solar-panel-cleaning-company-in-san-jose-ca/ ] understands the processes needed to restore solar panels and shares more knowledge on the subject below. Why Solar Panels Collect Dirt and Debris Solar panels must stay outside in order to collect the maximum amount of sunlight. However, surfaces that stay outside are prone to building up surface debris. This is natural, and this debris can take on many forms, including dirt, dead bugs, bird droppings, pollen, and moss. Natural as this debris buildup may be, though, it can cause negative effects over time. For this reason, it is important to consider cleaning solar panels on a yearly basis. Boosting Solar Energy Output Via Solar Panel Cleaning By cleaning solar panels, residential and commercial property owners can increase their electricity production. The reason for this is simple. The surface area of a solar panel is used to convert solar energy, or "photons", into electrical energy. When surface area is blocked by dirt and debris, these photons cannot be absorbed; thus, efficiency is lost. By gently cleaning solar panels with low-pressure water, this debris can be removed in its entirety. This allows solar panels to achieve their maximum productivity. It is important to clean solar panels with low-pressure water because high-force pressure washing [ https://www.goldenstatepws.com/pressure-washing-company-in-san-jose-ca/ ] can actually cause damage to them. Additionally, it is important to power off solar panels before cleaning them. Golden State Pressure Washing Provides Solar Panel Cleaning Services in San Jose, CA The process of cleaning solar panels can be a big time commitment. Furthermore, it requires a specific set of tools and knowledge, and not everyone has these things at their disposal. For these reasons, Golden State Pressure Washing is proud to provide solar panel cleaning services to the San Jose community. This allows residential and commercial property owners to bring shine back to their solar panels without having to go through the process of cleaning them.
