The hits keep coming for the Philadelphia 76ers. Center Andre Drummond will be out at least for three games with a right ankle sprain, the team announced Monday. He will miss at least a week and be reevaluated this weekend. The 13-year veteran left Saturday’s win in Detroit after just 3:33 on the court. Drummond’s absence starts Tuesday night when the 76ers travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets. Drummond has, like the rest of the 76ers, struggled significantly this season around the in-and-out of star players, in particular fellow center Joel Embiid. In 17 games (11 starts), Drummond is averaging 8.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. His field goal percentage has dropped to 52.4 after hitting 60.6 two years ago in Chicago. The 76ers are 29th in the league in rebounding. It’s the second game he’s missed this season, the other for an illness. Joining Drummond on the 76ers’ must-read injury report remains Embiid, out with left knee injury management/personal reasons. He’s stuck on four games played this year. But Kyle Lowry is listed as probable after missing the last five games with a right hip strain. Caleb Martin, who missed the last two games with a back strain, is also probable. The right-hander was the winning pitcher for Texas in its 2023 World Series clincher, and the Rangers said one of their primary goals this offseason was to re-sign Eovaldi. We’ve been hearing about Apple Intelligence since June but only now has it become real. With iOS 18.2, just released, Apple has unleashed a deluge of improvements to make the iPhone (and iPad and Mac) more useful. But is the new release good to go or should you hold back? Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. Note that I’ll be updating this post over the coming days and will make a final assessment on Thursday, Dec. 19. Who Is It For And How Do You Get It? Apple iOS 18.2 works with all iPhones that can run iOS 18, which is the same list of devices which could handle iOS 17. This means all iPhones from the iPhone XS onwards, including the second- and third-generation iPhone SE models. Apple Intelligence is the marquee feature here, but it only works on six iPhones: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. What It’s About Two words: Apple Intelligence. That’s not to say there isn’t more to this update, but Apple Intelligence is key. The Tigers scored 21 in the first quarter behind a strong ground attack and an 11-yard scoring pass from Mike Jones to Parker Poteete. Jones had a 67-yard run while Jason Tennyson scored on a 51-yard scoot. Jones hit 8 of 10 for 148 yards and three scores. The Tigers move to the regional semifinal against Jefferson. The 12-0 Eagles are powered by an outstanding running running back, Kamran Williams, who has more than 2,000 yards for the season. The Bulldogs routed the Grandview Zebras 62-18, with Williams causing plenty of problems for the perennial playoff team. Grandview took a 6-0 lead, which was quickly answered on a pass from Tihmyus Taylor to Chris Lowe for a 7-yard TD. When Jefferson got the ball back, they struck again on a 48-yard pass from Taylor to Jakyrie Johnson. With less than a minute left in the first quarter Grandview cut the lead to 14-12 and it appeared the back and forth momentum surges might continue. Kamran Williams put Jefferson back in control with a 56-yard run. By halftime, the Eagles had build a 42-18 lead. As of press time, the time and place of the Malakoff-Jefferson game is set for 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at Rose Stadium in Tyler.
