The Lizzie McGuire actress and husband Matthew Koma proved once again they are one of Hollywood's cutest couples with their adorably sentimental yet hilarious fifth wedding anniversary tributes to each other. “5 years married today to my dream girl & my best friend," Matthew wrote on Instagram Dec. 21. "As I lay next to you in bed, purely exhausted after our third consecutive 14 hour day of taking our 4 kids skiing – I feel like the luckiest. You chose me to do the impossible with. And as we navigate through the truly IN IT years, I think the most exciting thing is knowing on the other side of this, we get each other. You’re my favorite person to do absolutely anything and everything with." The musician—who shares daughters Banks , 6, Mae , 3, and Townes , 7 months, with Hilary in addition to her son Luca , 12, from her first marriage—continued, "I know that may sound underwhelming considering my inability to tolerate the majority of humans, but you light this grinch up in a way that forces me to fully submit and coast closer to the #LiveLaughLove sun than I ever thought possible." Matthew went on to thank Hilary for "knowing me better than I know me, and for steering me clear of so many traps I would’ve fallen right into without your North." "I know we’re still at the starting line, but I fully trust you’ll lead us all the way home," the 37-year-old concluded. "And if not, I’m going to have a hell of a highlight reel to relive in my one bedroom condo in the deep San Fernando Valley that I share with a guy named Sid who burns incense and has a pet axolotl. You are my forever Luigi and I love you so much." And no, Matthew wasn't referencing a certain Luigi who has become infamous as of late for a CEO's shocking murder . As Hilary, 38, hilariously clarified in the comments, "As long as you mean the right Luigi I’m here for ever my baby. My big baby. Calzada connected with Roy early in the fourth and Peacock added insurance in the last stanza with a 35 yarder with 4:14 remaining. Lontrell Turner had 120 yards rushing on 18 carries for Incarnate Word. Connor Watkins threw for 103 yards and an interception for Villanova whose offense was outgained 437-138. (AP) — South Carolina offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains has been hired as head coach at Appalachian State and will receive a five-year contract, athletic director Doug Gillin announced Saturday. The 44-year-old Loggains replaces Shawn Clark, who was fired Monday after the Mountaineers finished 5-6 for their first losing season since 2013. Loggains was South Carolina's offensive coordinator for two seasons and an assistant at Arkansas, his alma mater, for two seasons before that. He spent 16 years in the NFL as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Tennessee, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami and the New York Jets. “He brings experience as a leader and play-caller at the highest levels of professional and college football," Gillin said. "He is a great recruiter and believes strongly in building relationships. He is aligned with our core values of academic integrity, competitive excellence, social responsibility and world-class experience. This is a great day for App State.” Loggains' offense at South Carolina featured LaNorris Sellers, one of the nation's top dual-threat quarterbacks, and running back Raheim “Rocket” Sanders. Sellers and Sanders led the Southeastern Conference's third-ranked rushing offense. Loggains spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as Arkansas' tight ends coach, and he worked with Sam Darnold, Jay Cutler, Mitchell Trubisky, Brian Hoyer and Vince Young during his time in the NFL. The Mountaineers, the preseason favorites in the Sun Belt Conference's East Division, tied for fifth with a 3-5 record in league play. App State was 40-24 under Clark, but the Mountaineers have failed to reach a bowl game two of the past three seasons. Get poll alerts and updates on the AP Top 25 throughout the season. The Green Bay Packers released their Week 14 inactive list ahead of the huge NFC North showdown against the Detroit Lions. Cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Corey Ballentine, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, and off-ball linebacker Edgerrin Cooper had all been ruled out on Wednesday , so they are inactive. Inactive list CB Jaire Alexander CB Corey Ballentine LB Edgerrin Cooper OL Jacob Monk WR Romeo Doubs Yes, these pieces of news were predictable, but they are still really concerning. Without Alexander and Ballentine, both with knee injuries, the Packers are thin at cornerback. They elevated rookie seventh-round pick Kalen King from the practice squad, and other than that the roster only has Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, Eric Stokes, and Robert Rochell. Doubs suffered a concussion against the San Francisco 49ers and will miss his second consecutive game. He didn't have enough time to clear the concussion protocol, even though he was a limited participant at practice throughout the week. The receiver room has more depth, as the Packers have Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath. It wasn't necessary to elevate nobody at the position from the practice squad. Cooper will miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury. At linebacker, the Packers will have Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie, Eric Wilson, and rookie Ty'Ron Hopper. If needed, safety Kitan Oladapo can play dime linebacker as well. Roster construction Since t rading Preston Smith away to the Pittsburgh Steelers right before the deadline, the Packers have kept an open roster spot — they have only occupied it for two days, when running back MarShawn Lloyd was activated from injured reserve before being placed on the non-football illness reserve. With the elevation of Kalen King, the Packers had 53 available players for this game, so they had to inactivate five. Outside of the four injured players, the only healthy scratch is center Jacob Monk, a fifth-round rookie. WASHINGTON (AP) — The House shut down Democrats' efforts Thursday to release the long-awaited ethics report into former Rep. Matt Gaetz , pushing the fate of any resolution to the yearslong investigation of sexual misconduct allegations into further uncertainty. The nearly party-line votes came after Democrats had been pressing for the findings to be published even though the Florida Republican left Congress and withdrew as President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general. Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., was the sole Republican to support the effort. Most Republicans have argued that any congressional probe into Gaetz ended when he resigned from the House. Speaker Mike Johnson also requested that the committee not publish its report, saying it would be a terrible precedent to set. While ethics reports have previously been released after a member’s resignation, it is extremely rare. Shortly before the votes took place, Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., who introduced one of the bills to force the release, said that if Republicans reject the release, they will have “succeeded in sweeping credible allegations of sexual misconduct under the rug.” Gaetz has repeatedly denied the claims. Earlier Thursday, the Ethics panel met to discuss the Gaetz report but made no decision, saying in a short statement that the matter is still being discussed. It's unclear now whether the document will ever see the light of day as lawmakers only have a few weeks left before a new session of Congress begins. It's the culmination of weeks of pressure on the Ethics committee's five Republicans and five Democrats who mostly work in secret as they investigate allegations of misconduct against lawmakers. The status of the Gaetz investigation became an open question last month when he abruptly resigned from Congress after Trump's announcement that he wanted his ally in the Cabinet. It is standard practice for the committee to end investigations when members of Congress depart, but the circumstances surrounding Gaetz were unusual, given his potential role in the new administration. Rep. Michael Guest, R-Miss., the committee chairman, said Wednesday that there is no longer the same urgency to release the report given that Gaetz has left Congress and stepped aside as Trump's choice to head the Justice Department. “I’ve been steadfast about that. He’s no longer a member. He is no longer going to be confirmed by the Senate because he withdrew his nomination to be the attorney general,” Guest said. The Gaetz report has also caused tensions between lawmakers on the bipartisan committee. Pennsylvania Rep. Susan Wild, the top Democrat on the panel, publicly admonished Guest last month for mischaracterizing a previous meeting to the press. Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing and said last year that the Justice Department’s separate investigation against him into sex trafficking allegations involving underage girls ended without federal charges. His onetime political ally Joel Greenberg , a fellow Republican who served as the tax collector in Florida’s Seminole County, admitted as part of a plea deal with prosecutors in 2021 that he paid women and an underage girl to have sex with him and other men. The men were not identified in court documents when he pleaded guilty. Greenberg was sentenced in late 2022 to 11 years in prison.Explainer: All you need to know about the GST on EVs
Senator demands answers from Gov. Phil Murphy about drone sightings in New JerseyJudge overturns conviction in case involving now-discredited detective accused of abusing womenFormer Boise State coach Chris Petersen still gets asked about the Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma on the first day of 2007. That game had everything. Underdog Boise State took a 28-10 lead over one of college football's blue bloods that was followed by a 25-point Sooners run capped by what could have been a back-breaking interception return for a touchdown with 1:02 left. Then the Broncos used three trick plays that remain sensations to not only force overtime but win 43-42. And then there was the marriage proposal by Boise State running back Ian Johnson — shortly after scoring the winning two-point play — to cheerleader Chrissy Popadics that was accepted on national TV. That game put Broncos football on the national map for most fans, but looking back 18 years later, Petersen sees it differently. "Everybody wants to talk about that Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl game, which is great how it all worked out and all those things," Petersen said. "But we go back to play TCU (three years later) again on the big stage. It's not as flashy a game, but to me, that was an even better win." Going back to the Fiesta Bowl and winning, Petersen reasoned, showed the Broncos weren't a splash soon to fade away, that there was something longer lasting and more substantive happening on the famed blue turf. The winning has continued with few interruptions. No. 8 and third-seeded Boise State is preparing for another trip to the Fiesta Bowl, this time in a playoff quarterfinal against No. 5 and sixth-seeded Penn State on New Year's Eve. That success has continued through a series of coaches, though with a lot more of a common thread than readily apparent. Dirk Koetter was hired from Oregon, where Petersen was the wide receivers coach. Not only did Koetter bring Petersen with him to Oregon, Petersen introduced him to Dan Hawkins, who also was hired for the staff. So the transition from Koetter to Hawkins to Petersen ensured at least some level of consistency. Koetter and Hawkins engineered double-digit victory seasons five times over a six-year span that led to power-conference jobs. Koetter went to Arizona State after three seasons and Hawkins to Colorado after five. Then when Petersen became the coach after the 2005 season, he led Boise State to double-digit wins his first seven seasons and made bowls all eight years. He resisted the temptation to leave for a power-conference program until Washington lured him away toward the end of the 2013 season. Then former Boise State quarterback and offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin took over and posted five double-digit victory seasons over his first six years. After going 5-2 during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, he left for Auburn. "They just needed consistency of leadership," said Koetter, who is back as Boise State's offensive coordinator. "This program had always won at the junior-college level, the Division II level, the I-AA (now FCS) level." But Koetter referred to "an unfortunate chain of events" that made Boise State a reclamation project when he took over in 1998. Coach Pokey Allen led Boise State to the Division I-AA national championship game in 1994, but was diagnosed with cancer two days later. He died on Dec. 30, 1996, at 53. Allen coached the final two games that season, Boise State's first in Division I-A (now FBS). Houston Nutt became the coach in 1997, went 4-7 and headed to Arkansas. Then Koetter took over. "One coach dies and the other wasn't the right fit for this program," Koetter said. "Was a really good coach, did a lot of good things, but just wasn't a good fit for here." But because of Boise State's success at the lower levels, Koetter said the program was set up for success. "As Boise State has risen up the conference food chain, they've pretty much always been at the top from a player talent standpoint," Koetter said. "So it was fairly clear if we got things headed in the right direction and did a good job recruiting, we would be able to win within our conference for sure." Success didn't take long. He went 6-5 in 1998 and then won 10 games each of the following two seasons. Hawkins built on that winning and Petersen took it to another level. But there is one season, really one game, no really one half that still bugs Petersen. He thought his best team was in 2010, one that entered that late-November game at Nevada ranked No. 3 and had a legitimate chance to play for the national championship. The Colin Kaepernick-led Wolf Pack won 34-31. "I think the best team that I might've been a part of as the head coach was the team that lost one game to Nevada," Petersen said. "That team, to me, played one poor half of football on offense the entire season. We were winning by a bunch at half (24-7) and we came out and did nothing on offense in the second half and still had a chance to win. "That team would've done some damage." There aren't any what-ifs with this season's Boise State team. The Broncos are in the field of the first 12-team playoff, representing the Group of Five as its highest-ranked conference champion. That got Boise State a bye into the quarterfinals. Spencer Danielson has restored the championship-level play after taking over as the interim coach late last season during a rare downturn that led to Andy Avalos' dismissal. Danielson received the job full time after leading Boise State to the Mountain West championship. Now the Broncos are 12-1 with their only defeat to top-ranked and No. 1 seed Oregon on a last-second field goal. Running back Ashton Jeanty also was the runner-up to the Heisman Trophy. "Boise State has been built on the backs of years and years of success way before I got here," Danielson said. "So even this season is not because of me. It's because the group of young men wanted to leave a legacy, be different. We haven't been to the Fiesta Bowl in a decade. They said in January, 'We're going to get that done.' They went to work." As was the case with Danielson, Petersen and Koetter said attracting top talent is the primary reason Boise State has succeeded all these years. Winning, obviously, is the driving force, and with more entry points to the playoffs, the Broncos could make opportunities to keep returning to the postseason a selling point. But there's also something about the blue carpet. Petersen said he didn't get what it was about when he arrived as an assistant coach, and there was some talk about replacing it with more conventional green grass. A poll in the Idaho Statesman was completely against that idea, and Petersen has come to appreciate what that field means to the program. "It's a cumulative period of time where young kids see big-time games when they're in seventh and eighth and ninth and 10th grade and go, 'Oh, I know that blue turf. I want to go there,'" Petersen said. Get local news delivered to your inbox!

The Founder of Eko Drive, Ademide Osunsina, has called on the federal government to prioritise the nation’s automotive sector to achieve inclusive economic growth. Osunsina stated this during Eko Drive’s third car exhibition in Lagos while also acknowledging that the automotive industry plays a key role in contributing to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product despite the sector currently facing significant challenges. He said the industry’s potential remains high with estimates predicting that it could account for up to 12 per cent of GDP if properly developed. “The automotive sector is crucial to Nigeria’s economic landscape, and the Eko Drive exhibition is at the forefront of this transformation. The exhibition serves as a powerful catalyst to promote innovation by featuring cutting-edge technology and electric vehicles, thus encouraging local manufacturers to adopt sustainable practices,” he said. Speaking on the exhibition, Osunsina who also doubles as the project manager said Eko Drive’s goal is to foster a vibrant automotive community that not only appreciates luxury vehicles but also drives economic growth in Nigeria. “This year’s edition, held at the Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi drew hundreds of automotive enthusiasts – sports cars, supercars, power bike lovers – solidifying Nigeria’s position as a rising hub for supercar culture and technology,” he averred. He stated that the energy at this year’s exhibition was electric and he is thrilled to see so many passionate individuals come together to celebrate the future of supercars. “We are committed to showcasing not just supercars but also the innovations that will shape the future of transportation in Nigeria,” the co-founder and creative director of Eko Drive,” Imran Claud-Ennin said. Over the years, Expo exhibitions expanded their focus to various spheres of technological and scientific innovations. One significant event that continued this tradition was the 1938 Expo in Helsinki, dedicated to aviation, which brought together 25 countries and attracted 15 million visitors. This event highlighted the growing importance of aviation as a transformative technology in the 20th century. In 1965, the Expo in Munich focused on various forms of transport, gathering 31 countries and showcasing the latest advancements in railways, shipping, and aviation. The event included prototypes of high-speed trains and advanced underground systems. As global transportation needs grew, these exhibitions became platforms for presenting innovations that would shape the future of travel and communication. Over time, transportation was not only explored in terms of physical infrastructure but also relation to sustainability and environmental impact, reflecting changes in the priorities of global societies. Ecology and Sustainable Development Over the following decades, specialized Expo exhibitions expanded their thematic focus, with increasing emphasis on ecology and sustainability. The 1974 Expo in Spokane, one of the first exhibitions to promote ecological sustainability, marked a key moment in the global discussion on sustainability. These events opened the door to a better understanding of ecological challenges, laying the foundation for the introduction of concrete measures to reduce environmental impact and enhance knowledge of the interconnectedness of people, technology, and nature. The 1984 Expo in New Orleans, with the theme "World's Rivers," focused on the conservation of water resources and their importance for the environment, providing a global platform for understanding how water conservation affects the sustainability of our planet. Similarly, the 2008 Expo in Zaragoza, Spain, was dedicated to water and sustainable development, featuring interactive exhibits that demonstrated water-saving technologies and emphasized the necessity of protecting this vital resource for the future of humanity. These exhibitions not only showcased technological innovations in the protection of natural resources but also served as an opportunity to raise global awareness about the importance of preserving the natural balance in a world where resources are increasingly threatened. Sport and Culture as Universal Bridges Sport has always been a key element of global connectivity and a way to build bridges between different cultures and nations. At Expo 1949 in Sweden, called Lingiad after the founder of Swedish gymnastics, Pehr Henrik Ling, the importance of physical culture and collective sports activities was highlighted as the foundation for health, mutual trust, and integration. This event linked physical activity with broader social values, creating a strong impact on the public and laying the groundwork for the long-term promotion of health through sport. Similarly, Expo 1955 in Turin focused on sport not only as a physical activity but also as a key factor in human development and cultural integration. The event attracted 120,000 visitors and delegations from eleven countries, which facilitated the exchange of ideas and experiences, setting the stage for international sports initiatives that would evolve over the decades. In this way, sport became a symbol of unity, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds in a shared pursuit of health, peace, and mutual respect. Housing and Urban Planning for a Changing World Over the years, Expo exhibitions have explored key aspects of housing, recognizing its central role in shaping society and its development. These events provided an opportunity to address future challenges in urban planning and living conditions across the world. From urban environments to rural areas, Expo exhibitions have served as a platform for discussing sustainability, the balance between development and the preservation of natural resources, and living conditions that form the foundation of everyday life. Expo 1947 in Paris, with the theme of urbanism and housing, addressed the post-war reconstruction of residential areas, highlighting the importance of planning and building sustainable communities in a time of recovery. This opened the door for new approaches to creating urban spaces that would meet the needs of a new social and economic environment. Expo 1949 in Lyon, with the theme "Rural Habitat," focused on the challenges faced by rural regions, providing solutions for restoring and improving living conditions. These initiatives helped stabilize and grow rural communities, which were vital for the long-term recovery of society. Taejon Expo 1993 in South Korea, with the theme "The Challenge of a New Development Path," promoted sustainable urban development and green technologies, emphasizing the need to balance modernization with environmental preservation. The theme of this Expo raised the question of how to create sustainable cities in a rapidly urbanizing world, without compromising the future of our planet. Each of these exhibitions responded to specific social needs in housing and the environment. The focus on improving quality of life and adapting to contemporary challenges laid the groundwork for further research and the application of new solutions in these critical areas. Belgrade 2027: Bridging Tradition and Innovation Expo 2027 in Belgrade is a testament to the rich tradition of specialized Expo exhibitions, while simultaneously paving the way for the future. By focusing on sports and music, this exhibition highlights universal themes of creativity, unity, and the power of connecting people. With the theme "Play for Humanity," Expo 2027 emphasizes how play—whether through sports or music—serves as a tool to foster inclusivity and understanding beyond borders and cultures. The blend of physical and virtual spaces enables Expo 2027 to redefine the concept of global gatherings, offering innovative experiences that connect sports, music, technology, and sustainability in an entirely new way. By combining the legacy of previous specialized exhibitions with contemporary challenges, Expo 2027 in Belgrade has the potential to become a milestone. This exhibition not only reflects the spirit of its predecessors but also provides a platform for future generations to explore, innovate, and connect through the universal language of play. In this way, Belgrade 2027 lays the foundation for the continued development of specialized Expo exhibitions, while helping to shape the future and preserve the fundamental values of human collaboration and progress.
Oracle stock has been – but its big rally will be put to the test soon. ( ) reports its fiscal second-quarter earnings late Monday. The database software company is on pace for its largest annual gain on the stock market since 1999. Shares are up 76% year-to-date, including a 30% rally since Oracle in September. ( With such a big recent run, Barclays analyst Raimo Lenschow said in a recent client note that "it is tough to call for short-term outperformance." But he remains bullish on Oracle's stock's long-term setup. "What investors need to see this quarter is a continuation of the revenue acceleration story, but also Q3 guidance that supports the double-digit FY25 revenue growth target," he wrote. Two Cloud Numbers To Watch The report from Oracle will cover its November-ended quarter. Analysts are expecting adjusted earnings to grow 11% to $1.48 per share, according to FactSet. Sales are projected to grow 9% to $14.1 billion. But Oracle is a big business with a lot of components. Investors are likely focused on two metrics especially, Guggenheim analyst John DiFucci wrote to clients Thursday. They are looking for total cloud revenue to grow 24% year-over-year and cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) growth of 49%. Cloud infrastructure in particular has been a focus for investors. The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure business is emerging as a fourth enterprise cloud option, behind the much-larger hyperscalers ( ), ( ) and ( ). OCI has benefited as startups and other enterprises seek access to ( ) chips and other computing infrastructure to power AI projects. DiFucci noted that Oracle expects its IaaS revenues to grow at least 50% for its May-ending fiscal 2025. Hitting the target IaaS sales growth for the upcoming second quarter will "require significant growth in new annual recurring revenue," DiFucci wrote, "but we trust management's visibility into the timing of deal signings and go-lives." Guggenheim rates Oracle a buy with a price target of 220.
