Forward William Karlsson (personal reasons) and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) are set to return to the Vegas Golden Knights lineup against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday at Ball Arena. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific time. Karlsson welcomed his second son to the family on Nov. 25 and missed the game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Pietrangelo has been out since sustaining an upper-body injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs. “’ Karly’s’ a proud papa for the second time. Everybody’s good and healthy back home. So we’re happy for him and his family, so he’s ready to go,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “’Petro’ is healed up and ready to go. Good add late in the trip.” Golden Knights Coming Home The Golden Knights will return home after the game against the Avalanche and will play the next four of five at home. Vegas wants to finish this road trip with seven or, ideally, eight points from the five-game road trip. “It’s the last one, so just empty the tank, then we can go home after,” forward Nicolas Roy said. “It’s going to be a big game for us.” About the Avalanche Colorado is coming off an 8-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tampa on Monday. Cassidy doesn’t take too much stock in how they played in that particular game. “We pay attention to how they’re playing,” Cassidy said. “No one wants to lose a game the way they did. I’m sure they want to bring their best. They’re back home. At the end of the day, I don’t know how much that factors in. The team that executes the best usually wins these types of games.” Nathan MacKinnon leads Colorado with 35 points, while Mikko Rantanen leads the team in goals with 14. Vegas and Colorado played in the season opener on Oct. 9 at T-Mobile Arena, where the Golden Knights picked up an 8-4 victory. Paul Delos Santos is the Las Vegas sports insider for Dice City Sports. Arkansas receiver Andrew Armstrong said Tuesday that he is entering the NFL Draft. Later in the day, a school spokesman told reporters that Armstrong will skip the Razorbacks' bowl game. The destination isn't yet known. Armstrong led the Southeastern Conference in both receptions (78) and receiving yards (1,140) but caught just one touchdown in 11 games this season. His catches and yardage were both second-most in Arkansas history behind Cobi Hamilton, who had 90 receptions for 1,335 yards in 2012. "It's been a journey for the books and I wouldn't trade it for anything because it has made me into the man I am today," Armstrong said of his Razorbacks tenure in a social media post. "... I will never forget all the moments that were shared here in Fayetteville." Armstrong played two seasons at Texas A&M-Commerce before transferring to Arkansas ahead of the 2023 season. In two seasons with the Razorbacks, he caught 134 passes for 1,904 yards and six scores. --Field Level Media
