Mercury retrograde in 2025 brings financial, work, and career challenges for Pisces. Learn how to turn these cosmic hurdles into opportunities for growth and realignment. Mumbai: Astrology enthusiasts know that Mercury retrograde is infamous for throwing life into disarray. For Pisces, this phenomenon takes on an added layer of complexity. In 2025, Mercury retrograde strikes critical areas of your life—finances, work routines, and career—making it essential to navigate this period with foresight and care. Being a water sign, Pisces thrives on intuition and fluidity, but Mercury’s erratic energy during its retrograde can disrupt this flow, leading to potential misunderstandings and delays. Knowing what to expect and how to prepare will be key to making the most of these astrologically turbulent times. When Mercury retrogrades, it appears to move backward in the zodiac, unsettling communication, technology, and travel. For Pisces, a sign already prone to absorbing external energies, this can be particularly draining. But it’s not all doom and gloom. While Mercury retrogrades bring challenges, they also offer opportunities for reflection, reassessment, and growth. Let’s delve into the three Mercury retrogrades of 2025 and how you, dear Pisces, can navigate these cosmic hurdles with grace. Understanding Mercury Retrograde Mercury retrograde occurs when the planet seems to reverse its direction in the sky, a visual illusion caused by its orbital movement. In astrology, this signifies a period of weakened planetary influence, often associated with communication breakdowns, travel delays, and technological malfunctions. For Pisces, Mercury holds malefic energy, making its retrogrades particularly impactful. These periods may disrupt the fluid, intuitive rhythm you rely on. Misunderstandings, misplaced words, and logistical hiccups are common themes. The key for Pisces is to harness patience, avoid impulsive actions, and lean into introspection to make the most of these periods. 1st Mercury Retrograde: March 14 to April 7 — Aries and Pisces This retrograde starts in Aries and transitions into Pisces, activating your 2nd house of finances and personal values. Expect hiccups in managing money—delayed payments, incorrect statements, or miscommunication about financial matters may arise. This is not the time for impulsive investments or major purchases. Instead, channel your energy into revisiting your financial plans, refining your budget, and ensuring your spending aligns with your core values. Once Mercury goes direct, you’ll gain a clearer vision for long-term financial stability. Precautions: 2nd Mercury Retrograde: July 17 to August 11 — Leo During this phase, Mercury retrogrades through your 6th house of daily routines, work, and health. Miscommunications with colleagues and errors in assignments may create disruptions. If you’re trying to maintain a fitness regimen or tackle a health goal, expect obstacles or confusion about plans. Instead of starting new projects, focus on tidying up existing ones. This is an excellent time to reflect on how your habits and routines support your well-being and productivity. Precautions: 3rd Mercury Retrograde: November 9 to November 29 — Sagittarius and Scorpio This retrograde impacts your 10th house of career and public image, creating potential roadblocks in professional matters. Misunderstandings with superiors or delays in achieving your goals may test your patience. Avoid signing new contracts or making major career moves during this time. Instead, use the retrograde to review your professional aspirations and address unfinished projects. Once Mercury resumes its direct motion, you’ll find clarity and momentum to take your career to the next level. Precautions: Key Takeaway for Pisces in 2025 Mercury retrogrades in 2025 will test your resilience across finances, work, and career. The secret to thriving lies in your ability to stay calm, double-check the details, and use these periods for introspection. While the retrogrades may initially seem like setbacks, they offer opportunities to rethink priorities and strengthen foundations. By embracing patience and thoughtful planning, you’ll emerge from 2025 stronger, wiser, and more aligned with your true self. Prepare, reflect, and let the cosmic tides guide you, Pisces! NEW YORK (AP) — Daniel Penny chose not to testify and defense lawyers rested their case Friday at his trial in the death of an agitated man he choked on a subway train. Closing arguments are expected after Thanksgiving in the closely watched manslaughter case about the death of Jordan Neely , 30. The encounter between Penny, a white Marine veteran, and Neely, a homeless Black man with mental health and drug problems, has been drawn into U.S. political divides over race, public safety and cities’ ability to handle mental illness and social ills. Penny, 26, has pleaded not guilty. Many criminal defendants don’t take the stand, and juries are routinely instructed that they cannot hold defendants’ silence — a constitutional right — against them. One of Penny’s lawyers, Daniel Kenniff, noted after court that jurors did hear from Penny, in the form of his recorded statements to police minutes and hours after he put Neely in a chokehold. “Virtually everything he said then is consistent with credible testimony of his fellow passengers,” Kenniff said. Penny told police that he wrapped his arm around Neely’s neck, took him to the floor and “put him out” because he was angrily throwing things and making threatening comments. Penny said on police video that he hadn’t wanted to injure Neely but rather to keep him from hurting anyone else. RELATED COVERAGE Pathologist disputes finding that Marine veteran’s chokehold caused subway rider’s death Sister of ex-Marine charged in subway chokehold death testifies to his ‘calm’ spirit and patriotism Former Marine misused a combat technique in fatal chokehold of NYC subway rider, trainer testifies A number of other passengers testified that they were scared of Neely and relieved that Penny grabbed hold of him. A man who later stepped in and held down Neely’s arms, however, told jurors that he urged Penny to let go but that the veteran kept choking Neely for a time. Prosecutors say Penny meant to protect people but recklessly used too much force, overlooking Neely’s humanity and making no effort to spare his life. City medical examiners ruled that the chokehold killed Neely. A pathologist hired by Penny’s defense disputed that finding . Prosecutors, defense lawyers and the judge are set to meet Monday to hash out jury instructions.Kuwait City, Dec 22 (PTI) India and Kuwait on Sunday elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held extensive talks with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah that focused on giving new momentum to the overall bilateral ties. In their meeting at the majestic Bayan Palace here, the two leaders especially deliberated on boosting cooperation in areas of information technology, pharmaceuticals, fintech, infrastructure and security. Modi thanked the Emir for ensuring the well-being of over one million Indians in Kuwait while the Kuwaiti leader expressed appreciation for the contribution of the community in the development journey of the Gulf nation. In a post on 'X', Modi described his meeting with the Emir as "excellent". "Excellent meeting with His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. We discussed cooperation in key sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, FinTech, Infrastructure and security," he said. "In line with the close ties between our nations, we have elevated our partnership to a strategic one and I am optimistic that our friendship will flourish even more in the times to come," he added. On his arrival at the Bayan Palace, Modi was given a ceremonial welcome and received by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The Indian prime minister arrived here on Saturday on a two-day trip - the first to this Gulf nation by an Indian prime minister in 43 years. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the talks between the prime minister and the Emir focused on exploring ways to take India-Kuwait ties to "new heights". In their discussions, Modi and the Kuwaiti Emir recalled the strong historical and friendly ties between the two countries and reaffirmed their full commitment to further expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation. The prime minister thanked the Emir for ensuring the well-being of over one million strong Indian community in Kuwait, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. It said Modi appreciated the new initiatives being undertaken by Kuwait to fulfill its 'Vision 2035' and congratulated the Emir for the successful holding of the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) earlier this month. The GCC is an influential grouping comprising the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The total volume of India's trade with GCC countries stood at USD 184.46 billion in the financial year 2022-23. Modi also expressed his gratitude for inviting him on Saturday as a 'Guest of Honour' at the opening ceremony of the Arabian Gulf Cup. The Emir reciprocated Modi's sentiments and expressed appreciation for India's role as a valued partner in Kuwait and the Gulf region, the MEA said in a statement. It said the Kuwaiti leader looked forward to a greater role and contribution of India towards the realisation of Kuwait's 'Vision 2035'. The prime minister also invited the Emir to visit India. The Gulf nation is among India's top trading partners, with bilateral trade valued at USD 10.47 billion in the financial year 2023-24. Kuwait is India's sixth largest crude supplier, meeting 3 per cent of the country's energy needs. Indian exports to Kuwait reached USD 2 billion for the first time, while investments by the Kuwait Investment Authority in India exceeded USD 10 billion. The last Indian prime minister to visit Kuwait was Indira Gandhi in 1981. India is among the top trading partners of Kuwait. The Indian community is the largest expatriate community in Kuwait. Seahawks safety Rayshawn Jenkins will return to the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals. Coach Mike Macdonald announced that the team will activate Jenkins back to the 53-player roster Saturday. Jenkins returned to practice this week, opening his 21-day window, and he was a full participant in all three practices. He missed four games with a hand injury that required surgery after Week 6. Jenkins has 38 tackles and a fumble recovery, which he returned 102 yards for a touchdown in a loss to the Giants. The Seahawks have ruled out tight end Brady Russell (foot), according to Macdonald. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (back) and tight end Noah Fant (groin) are questionable.AP Business SummaryBrief at 7:36 a.m. EST
