San Francisco (5-5) dropped to .500 after losing at home to the Seattle Seahawks, though the 49ers remain just a game behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. “I think we’re motivated to keep winning more than anything,” Packers center Josh Myers said. “Obviously, they have knocked us out quite a bit. There’s that extra motivation behind it, but at this point, we’re just trying to churn out wins.” Green Bay is third in the NFC North and two games behind the Detroit Lions, but the Packers appear on track to at least earn a wild-card playoff berth. In that scenario, Enbridge and other utility stocks that carry large debt positions could come under renewed pressure. Bond yields have risen steadily for the past two months. This suggests markets are anticipating a slower pace of interest rate cuts in the coming months. Dividends Enbridge raised the dividend in each of the past 29 years. Investors should see the trend continue, supported by cash flow growth from recent acquisitions and the development program. Enbridge completed its US$14 billion purchase of three natural gas utilities in 2024. The company is also working on a $24 billion capital program to drive additional revenue and cash flow gains. Investors who buy ENB stock at the current level can get a dividend yield of 6%. The bottom line on ENB stock A pullback should be expected after the big run. It isn’t so much that Enbridge is heavily overbought. The entire market is simply due for a breather. That being said, high-yield dividend investors with a buy-and-hold strategy should be comfortable owning Enbridge right now and might consider adding to the position on any new weakness. For Adams (10-3), it was the first loss in seven games, since the Highlanders found themselves 4-2 after back-to-back road losses to Lake Orion and Oxford, by a total of four points, shunting them out of contention for the OAA Red title. The two teams went into halftime tied at 7-7, but it could’ve been a bit different, if a couple of those bounces had gone Adams’ way. Hudsonville ground out a 14-play drive to open the game, but one play before the capper, it appeared the Highlanders had forced a fumble. When the ball stayed with the Eagles, one play later, they punched it in with a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Griffin Baker, the first of four he accounted for on the day. After the Highlanders tied it at 7-7 on a 39-yard pass from Nolan Farris to Tommy Offer, the Highlanders had a chance to go up a score after stopping the Eagles on downs near midfield, with a 30-yard Farris run getting Adams into the red zone. But a fumble the other way gave the ball back to the Eagles on their own 1 — the same spot as the other miscue — and the half ended in a deadlock. Adams turned it over on downs at midfield to open the second half, and the Eagles used the short field to take a 14-7 lead on a 5-yard Baker run. On the final play of the third quarter, Hudsonville linebacker Ethan Carter got in the passing lane and tipped an interception to himself to set up another short field, and a 1-yard Baker TD run, making it 21-7 with 10:26 to play. After another Adams drive stalled on downs with 8:03 to go, Hudsonville took six minutes off the clock before scoring again on a 5-yard pass from Baker to Jack Wills on fourth-and-goal, making it 27-7 with 1:55 to go. The Adams offense spluttered much of the day, getting behind the sticks, and then in long down-and-distance plays, the Eagles would go to a ‘Radar’ defense, with no down linemen, bringing blitzers from all angles. “We saw it on film, watched it, and we felt really good about our game plan against it — and really didn’t cause any problems for us at all, to be perfectly candid. We just had breakdowns in offense in the second half against their regular defense, and that put us in third-and-long where they can do that,” Patritto said. “And then we, you know, clearly, we had some backups in trying to make plays. And I give our kids a credit, they didn’t quit, and our kids really grinded to the end.” Adams was looking for its third title-game appearance, and second in four seasons. This one may have been a bit less expected, though, considering that the Highlanders lost their starting quarterback to injury in that two-game midseason stretch. That’s why Patritto told the Highlanders “I love you to freakin’ death,” in the postgame meeting, after reminding them that they’d more than upheld the standard at Adams. “We’re picked to take second-to-last in our league. We don’t have any four- or five-stars. Our quarterback (Ryland Watters) goes down in the middle of the season. He’s just an amazing player and next-man-up mentality. But really, ultimately, it’s like no one cares who gets the ball. No one cares who gets the glory. What a pleasure to be around, because it’s so rare in today’s society. So you hit the nail right on the head. I’m so proud to be associated with these kids because they were selfless, and they didn’t care what people thought, and they just did their best to try to win,” Patritto said. “Honestly, that’s kind of the standard here. And I gotta give credit to the kids, the players that come to our program and have just kind of embraced that, and they’re the ones that carry it forward. So they’re all so memorable. I love these kids so much, but this is a special season.”

That’s the state of royal play in “Spellbound,” a semi-enchanting film from Skydance Animation on Netflix. The movie had a chance to be a gem thanks to some of the folks who brought it to life. The list starts with director Vicky Jenson, who, most notably, helmed 2001’s beloved romp “Shrek.” Then there’s composer Alan Menken — working herewith lyricist Glenn Slater — who has contributed to animated Disney classics including “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast.” And singing the original songs of Menken and Slater is Rachel Zegler, who delighted us in director Steven Spielberg’s 2021 remake of “West Side Story” and last year impressed in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.” These talented people and others — John Lithgow, Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem contribute voice work — help make “Spellbound” a relative winner even if it falls short of the quality of the aforementioned animated films. As we meet Ellian (Zegler) — on her birthday, flying through mountains, above water and eventually back to the kingdom with her friends riding giant birds — she and a few others, such as Lithgow’s Minister Bolinar, have been keeping the truth about her parents a secret from the citizens and even some important types. Ministers Bolinar and Nazara (Jenifer Lewis) think it is time for Princess Ellian to become the ruler of Lumbria, but she hasn’t given up on the idea of finding a way to break her parents’ curse, which they encountered in the Dark Forest of Eternal Darkness — where it’s, like, seriously dark. She summons to the castle the Oracle of the Moon (Tituss Burgess) and the Oracle of the Sun (Nathan Lane), a pair of little guys who arrive by Uber-like frog. Before they can reveal how the curse can be broken, her mom tries to eat one of them, causing them to bolt. Ellian chases them down, of course, and, with Mom and Dad in tow, sets about her quest to return them to normalcy. As the three spend time together, Ellian is able to communicate, increasingly effectively, with Queen Ellsmere (Kidman) and King Solon (Bardem). It is then that we see the darkness that surrounded them was not just figurative; the more intelligently they can speak, the more they argue with one another. Despite this friction, Ellian continues a search for a source of lightness — again, both literal and metaphorical — to restore things as they should be. Penned by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin and Julia Miranda, “Spellbound” offers some valuable lessons to young viewers — for whom this film is mainly targeted — including the importance of handling negative feelings in a positive way. There’s also a lesson for parents, however. If nothing else, the not-so-neat-and-tidy resolution of the story isn’t exactly what you’d predict. You just wish the journey were a little more entertaining. The jokes are OK, not hilarious, and the songs are merely fine — certainly below Menken’s best work. Nevertheless, Zegler’s lovely singing voice elevates those songs, and the actress gives a strong performance overall. And Lithgow — who voiced the villainous Lord Farquaad in “Shrek” — is fun, especially after Bolinar runs afoul of some magic himself. With its bright-and-colorful palette (but only so-so design work), “Spellbound” should keep the little ones busy for nearly two hours as you prepare for Thanksgiving.
