ph365 vip net NoneCOMMENTARY The growth in systems communicating over the internet without human involvement has been dramatic in recent years. The Internet of Things (IoT) is driving more machine-to-machine (M2M) communications without human intervention. There is also an explosion in application development underpinning the need for digital transformation, which is turbocharged by remote working and the ever-increasing adoption of e-commerce. This means that pieces of software code are interacting autonomously across networks as never before. There is a need to manage system identities in the sense of what they are and what they can and cannot do when they are online. For example, can they both send and receive data? Where can they send it? In what volumes and formats? Can they access data that resides elsewhere, make copies, and forward it on, even to recipients outside the organization? Just as importantly, has their identity changed since the last time they were online, e.g., with extra access rights or new software on board that was not there before? Non-human identities (NHI) are already estimated to outnumber human identities by a ratio of 50 to one (50:1). With more and more business processes being automated by artificial intelligence (AI)/generative AI (GenAI) and accessed by AI-enabled services, NHI growth is likely to accelerate even further, bringing yet more expansion in the threat landscape. Related: Identity Orchestration Is Gaining Traction NHIs can be defined as digital identities tied to entities like applications, services, and machines within an enterprise technology stack. These include bots, API keys, service accounts, OAuth tokens, cloud services, and other credentials that allow machines or software to authenticate, access resources, and communicate within a system. The need for effective NHI management (NHIM) arises from several key factors: Related: How CISOs Can Communicate With Their Boards Effectively The NHI market is still developing, as demonstrated by the fact that most players are startups. This includes companies like: Some of these vendors are focused more specifically on NHI security while others provide broader NHIM capabilities, often described as NHI governance. We plan to deliver a report comparing and contrasting the leading players in this space in 2025. Omdia believes that since most of the players in the NHI market are startups, they are ripe for acquisition by the larger identity security platform vendors. Indeed, one or two startups have already been acquired, such as Authomize, which privileged access management (PAM) vendor Delinea purchased in January this year. Whilst in May 2024, CyberArk (the market leader in PAM) acquired Venafi for $1.5bn. Venafi was an exception amongst the NHI specialists, because it had been around much longer, thanks to its certificate lifecycle management (CLM) and key management background. Related: Managing Threats When Most of the Security Team Is Out of the Office The growth in devices communicating over the internet with no humans involved in the process has raised awareness of the need to manage these system’s identities. Omdia believes that over the coming years, NHI growth is likely to accelerate and further increase the threat landscape. Enterprises must be aware that trends such as the adoption of cloud, microservices, and DevOps have fueled the growth of NHIs in enterprise environments. Omdia also believes that opportunities for vendors in the identity security market are still huge, as machine identities already outnumber human identities by a ratio of 50:1. That figure is only likely to increase going forward. Don Tait supports and specializes in Omdia's identity, authentication and access intelligence service. MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said he was caught off guard by reports early Tuesday that linebacker Shaq Barrett wants to unretire. The two-time Super Bowl winner signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins in March, then abruptly announced his retirement on social media in July, just days before the start of Miami's training camp. “Just to be candid, obviously there's a reason why you target and sign somebody," McDaniel said Tuesday afternoon. “I was fully caught off guard, or caught by surprise this morning as I found out.” McDaniel indicated the Dolphins have not had any conversations with Barrett recently. Miami holds the 32-year-old’s contractual rights. ESPN first reported the news. “It was kind of news as you guys got it,” McDaniel said. He also said he hasn't had a chance to think about Barrett potentially rejoining the team, and that his immediate focus is on Miami's Thursday night game at Green Bay. “The team is counting on me to think about the Packers,” he said. "I'll get with (GM) Chris (Grier), and we'll work through that. There's a ton of implications that go along with it in terms of team and roster stuff, so we'll work through that as we just got the news today.” Barrett has 400 tackles, 59 sacks, 22 forced fumbles and three interceptions in nine seasons — four with Denver and five with Tampa Bay. He was a second-team All-Pro with the Buccaneers in 2019, with a league-high 19 1/2 sacks. The Dolphins waived veteran safety Marcus Maye on Tuesday and activated rookie safety Patrick McMorris from injured reserve. Maye, who signed with the Dolphins in June, played in 11 games with three starts for Miami this season. He had 30 tackles and a tackle for loss. He could re-sign to the team's practice squad if he clears waivers. Maye previously played for New Orleans, but was cut in a money-saving move in March after two seasons with the Saints. Maye's release made room on the roster for McMorris, who was drafted in the sixth round by Miami in April. He began the season on injured reserve because of a calf injury. WSJ associate editor John Bussey remembers former President Jimmy Carter on 'Fox News Live.' Tributes, including those from all five living presidents, poured in on Sunday after news broke that former President Jimmy Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia , at the age of 100. Carter served as the 39th president of the United States, but he was also a peanut farmer with a vision of a "competent and compassionate" government, which propelled him into the White House. Former President Bill Clinton said in a statement on Sunday that he and his wife, Hillary, met Carter in 1975 as "proud, early supporters" of his presidential campaign. "Hillary and I mourn the passing of President Jimmy Carter and give thanks for his long, good life," Clinton wrote. "Guided by his faith, President Carter lived to serve others – until the very end." JIMMY CARTER, 39TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, DEAD AT 100 Clinton continued by praising his presidential colleague for his commitment to civil rights while serving as a state senator and the governor of Georgia, as well as his efforts as president to protect natural resources in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, returning the Panama Canal to Panama and securing peace between Egypt and Israel at Camp David. Carter’s devotions after serving as president also gained accolades from Clinton, including efforts from the Carter Center to support honest elections, advancing peace and combating disease. "I will always be proud to have presented the Medal of Freedom to him and Rosalynn in 1999, and to have worked with him in the years after he left the White House," Clinton wrote. "Our prayers are with Jack, Chip, Jeff, Amy, and their families." FORMER PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER TO SPEND 'REMAINING TIME' AT HOME RECEIVING HOSPICE CARE Former President George W. Bush said Carter was "a man of deeply held convictions" who was loyal to his family, his community and his country. "President Carter dignified the office. And his efforts to leave behind a better world didn’t end with the presidency," Bush said. "His work with Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center set an example of service that will inspire Americans for generations." Carter, according to former President Obama, promised voters he would always tell the truth, which Obama said "he did." Because Jimmy Carter believed, as deeply as he believed anything, that we are all created in God’s image," he added. "Whenever I had a chance to spend time with President Carter, it was clear that he didn’t just profess these values. He embodied them. And in doing so, he taught all of us what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service." Obama highlighted a quote that Carter said when he accepted his Nobel Peace Prize: "God gives us the capacity for choice. We can choose to alleviate suffering. We can choose to work together for peace." "He made that choice again and again over the course of his 100 years, and the world is better for it," Obama said. JIMMY CARTER, WIFE ROSALYNN CELEBRATE 75 YEARS OF MARRIAGE In another post on X, Obama said, "President Carter taught all of us what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from this remarkable man." President Biden referred to Carter as a man of great character and courage, hope and optimism. He also said he and his wife will cherish seeing Carter and his late wife, Rosalynn, together, noting that the love between the two is the "definition of partnership," while their leadership is the definition of "patriotism." "We will miss them both dearly, but take solace knowing they are reunited once again and will remain forever in our hearts," Biden said. "To the entire Carter family, we send our gratitude for sharing them with America and the world. To their staff – from the earliest days to the final ones – we have no doubt that you will continue to do the good works that carry on their legacy." There was a time that Sam Darnold was taken with the third overall pick . His career went awry after that, but plenty of the circumstances were out of his control. Now in the greatest situation of his career, he is cruising for the Minnesota Vikings. Despite it being winter in Minnesota, and even with the recent warm front, the California native found some surf. After a second victory over the Green Bay Packers this season, it was impossible for his teammates to hold back their emotions. Minnesota Vikings celebrate Sam Darnold’s success The quarterback is arguably the most important player on any team in any sport. The NFL demands that teams have a competent leader that can move the football. Sam Darnold has been every bit of that despite being paid peanuts for his production. His teammates know how important he is as well. THAT’S OUR FREAKING QUARTERBACK pic.twitter.com/pEo4aqPHen Earlier this year Darnold beat the Green Bay Packers on the road . It was a dominant performance that was only clouded by a box score that got close later in the contest. That was largely reflective of how the Week 17 home game played out as well. Darnold was lifted up, literally, by teammates as 50 Cent’s ‘Many Men’ rang out through the locker room. It isn’t the first time the popular rap song has rang out, and the quarterback has often been the recipient of deserved celebration. Got a text of this video from inside the #Vikings locker room after their win over the #49ers : The team vibing to 50 Cent’s "Many Men." pic.twitter.com/3SQnwKO7pi Kevin O’Connell dialed up 43 passes for his quarterback on Sunday, and Darnold completed 33 of them for 377 yards. His 3/1 TD/INT ratio consistently benefitted his team, and he found three different pass catches for touchdowns in the win. It remains unlikely that the Vikings employ Darnold as their starting quarterback next season. That’s largely because he has been good enough to get a sizable payday and should be given every opportunity to cash in on that reality. National analysts continue to remain tepid on a team that wasn’t supposed to be in this spot . So much of that is rooted in the belief of what Darnold was rather than what O’Connell and Minnesota have created him to be. At one point the Vikings signed a quarterback that screamed “you like that!” while doing little to elevate himself from there. Darnold has been a quiet and consistent leader that is applauded by those around him despite never leaning too far out on his own.
