Umanmielen, who spent three years at Florida before transferring to Ole Miss, left the stadium with a number of officers surrounding him. And the defensive end still tried to get at heckling fans. It started when Umanmielen left the sideline in the waning seconds of a 24-17 loss to the Gators . He was walking toward the visiting locker room when at least one fan yelled at him from the stands. Umanmielen clearly didn't like what he heard and made his way toward the seats. Officers quickly stepped in and escorted Umanmielen back toward the locker room. They then walked him directly to the team's waiting busses, but more fans were in the path and shouted at him again. Umanmielen turned and started toward the fans before officers stepped in and stopped him. It was the latest bit of oddness for Umanmielen, who wore an orange Gators ski mask through Ole Miss' practice facility late in the week. He finished the game with seven tackles, including a sack. Greater Hume Council has completed the transfer of 12,000 tonnes of soil from Funks Pit in Table Top to the landfill at Walla, or signup to continue reading The move came after the EPA identified contaminants, including concrete, plastic, asphalt, and bitumen, in the material initially used to rehabilitate the gravel pit - Concerns raised by Walla residents about the potential contamination of the landfill have prompted the council to emphasise the safety measures in place for the transfer. These measures, however, were not implemented during the initial rehabilitation of the Funks Pit. "Before being placed, the material is being screened at the Walla Walla Landfill to remove the inert contaminants and then tested to ensure it conforms with the EPA [order]," a council spokesperson said. Despite these assurances, Walla resident Don Scott voiced scepticism about the process and criticised the lack of community consultation. "There was no consultation with anyone," he said. "No one in town actually knew about it until it was in ." Mr Scott also questioned whether the soil had been adequately tested to mitigate environmental risks. "Unless that dirt there has actually been tested, there's nothing to say there aren't contaminants or that leaching couldn't still come from the dirt into the waterways," he said. "They might as well not have taken the other stuff out if it hasn't been thoroughly tested." The council said that the screened material is being relocated to the Culcairn tip. "The material that is currently being screened out is inert asphalt and stone - the same material found in all roadways - and is completely safe to be stored at any landfill," the spokesperson said. "The reason that it is being transported to the Culcairn tip is because that site is a clay-lined landfill." The soil removal and transfer process is expected to cost $230,000, though the final expense remains uncertain. In addition, the council plans to spend another $200,000 to $300,000 on rehabilitating Funks Pit, a project that is expected to be completed by mid-2025. The council also highlighted that the Walla landfill site's rehabilitation aligns with its closure requirements. "The Walla Walla Landfill was required to be rehabilitated in order to complete its closure process," the spokesperson said.
