I hear that a new book, written by a property consultant based in the wealthy corner of west London, has caused the Chelsea set to splutter on their champagne. Author Michelle van Tulder has socialites in the royal borough quaking in their Louboutins with Table 72: The Girl Without A Filter. It chronicles the life of a school-run mother, Charlotte, as she lunches with her closest friends at The Restaurant in the King’s Road, which is based on van Tulder’s favourite table at The Ivy Chelsea Garden. The cast of characters includes ‘gym-buddy bunny’ Azam; ‘sexy feline aristocrat’ Rose; ‘ice-cool maneater’ Vanya; and Mary, a ‘mildly scandalous ex-socialite fashionista’. Fearful that their dirty laundry is about to be washed in public, locals are trying to ascertain if any of the characters could be based on people they know. ‘It’s the talk of the town,’ artist Ghizlan El Glaoui tells me. ‘People around here are worried their secrets are going to be in the book, their dinner party invitations will be cancelled so close to Christmas and coffee morning chat has gone stratospheric. It’s all everybody is talking about at the school gates. Even I’m worried I might end up in the book.’ Former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh tells me: ‘You want to see if you can spot anyone you know. I don’t think I’m in it, but I’m trying to guess who the characters are based on.’ One of the husbands in the book absconds to the US after losing the family home and all their savings on the stock market , another has an affair with his nanny, while a third cheats on his wife with his personal assistant. Van Tulder, 53, tells me: ‘I can’t possibly comment. They always say fact is stranger than fiction, and this is no exception.’ Michelle van Tulder has socialites in the royal borough quaking in their Louboutins with Table 72: The Girl Without A Filter Former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh tells me: ‘You want to see if you can spot anyone you know. But the director, 56, appeared in better spirits on Tuesday as he enjoyed a night out in Mayfair to celebrate the birthday of his wife, model Jacqui Ainsley, 43. The pair, who have three children, were spotted leaving private members’ club Oswald’s. Jacqui wore a daring satin and lace dress. Queen guitar player Brian May, 77, who suffered a ‘minor stroke’ three months ago which left him unable to use his left arm, is ‘much better now’, according to his wife, the actress Anita Dobson. ‘He’s stabilised now, which is brilliant,’ she tells me at the Television and Radio Industries Club Christmas lunch at The Londoner hotel. ‘I just hope we don’t have any more recurrences. He’s got the use of that arm back now. He’s playing the piano quite a lot in the house. He likes a lot of Beethoven – I love it.’ Anita, 75, adds: ‘It was scary. His brain’s overloaded, that’s what it is. He’s too clever for his own good.’ Queen guitar player Brian May, 77, who suffered a ‘minor stroke’ three months ago which left him unable to use his left arm, is ‘much better now’, according to his wife Gaia is latest nepo starlet Dame Emma Thompson and Greg Wise’s only daughter has become a star in her own right. Gaia Wise, who turned 25 this week, captured attention on the red carpet at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square for the world premiere of The Lord Of The Rings animated fantasy, The War Of The Rohirrim. Gaia voices the fearless lead character Hera, which she describes as a ‘dream’ role. ‘Butterflies doesn’t quite cover it – they feel a bit like dragons at this moment in time,’ she says of her nerves. ‘If I’m allowed back, I will always love to play Hera – she lives in me now.’ Gaia Wise, who turned 25 this week, captured attention on the red carpet at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square for the world premiere of The Lord Of The Rings animated fantasy, The War Of The Rohirrim King's key role in solving mystery Lady Antonia Fraser has suggested an interesting way to boost the morale of cancer-stricken King Charles – solving a centuries-old royal mystery. The historian has called for DNA testing of bones in Westminster Abbey possibly belonging to the ‘Princes in the Tower’, Edward V and his younger brother, Richard, who disappeared in 1483 and are thought to have been murdered on the orders of their uncle, the Duke of Gloucester, later Richard III. ‘Charles II did not check the authenticity of the bones because he couldn’t, but Charles III could,’ she says. ‘[Finding out who they belonged to] would be wonderful, and might cheer up the King.’ Lady Antonia Fraser has suggested an interesting way to boost the morale of cancer-stricken King Charles Lady Pole irked over daughter's title She's campaigned with vigour for a change in the law in favour of her daughter – and all other female aristocrats, who cannot inherit titles. But now Charlotte Carew Pole has acquired a handle of her own, albeit in poignant circumstances, becoming Lady Carew Pole following the death at 85 of her father-in-law, Sir Richard Carew Pole. His successor to the baronetcy is his elder son, Charlotte’s husband, Tremayne, 50, who becomes the 14th baronet. Charlotte, 48, is mightily irked that the baronetcy will ultimately pass not to their daughter Jemima, but to son Lucian, who’s a year younger. The Command in a statement issued on Saturday by the Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Grace Michael, said that the recoveries were made on November 22, 2024, after reports of suspicious objects in the affected areas. Michael explained that the first incident occurred at approximately 8:43 am in the Dala-Abuja Talakawa area. The spokesperson said this was after the residents reported a cluster of unidentified objects near an uncompleted building. “The Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Base 13 team responded swiftly, recovering six projectiles and one unexploded mortar bomb, which were safely relocated to a secure site. “Later that day, at about 1:00 pm, another report emerged from the Gwange area regarding a suspicious object along the riverbank. “The EOD-CBRN team was deployed to the scene and recovered an unexploded hand grenade,” the statement said. It added that preliminary investigations suggested that the ordnance were displaced and washed ashore by recent devastating floods in the state. According to the statement, the Police Command has since conducted Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness (EORE) training for residents of both communities, educating them on safety measures. The statement further said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring public safety, urging residents to remain calm, vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious objects or activities through the emergency lines: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293. Strong data protection is vital for economic growthDefending champ South Dakota State dominates Montana 35-18 in FCS 2nd roundTORONTO — In pregame introductions, OG Anunoby was greeted with a polite round of applause as he returned to Toronto. And when RJ Barrett was introduced with all of the pomp and circumstance of a home team intro, he jumped and danced along the sideline. That mood carried over for much of the game as Barrett seemed intent on making a statement against the team that traded him away. But in the end, it was the Knicks who were jumping and celebrating after pulling out a 113-108 win at Scotiabank Arena. Barrett did his part, finishing with 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists, but the Knicks got a balanced attack topped by Karl-Anthony Towns (24 points, 15 rebounds, six assists) to survive. Jalen Brunson's four-point play with 3:03 left began a game-ending 12-4 run that gave the Knicks (15-9) the win. Mikal Bridges had 23 points and Brunson added 20 points and 11 assists. When the Knicks, clinging to a two-point lead, missed a layup, Barrett muscled the ball away from Towns, raced up the floor and hit a lefthanded layup between two defenders, tying the score at 108 with 42.1 seconds to play. But out of a timeout, Brunson was double-teamed and found Towns under the basket for a go-ahead layup with 36 seconds remaining. When Barrett got past Anunoby and challenged Towns for a layup, Anunoby blocked the shot from behind. Towns delivered a three-point field goal on a feed from Anunoby with 6.3 seconds to play, and this time the Knicks celebrated as wildly as Barrett did at the start of the game. With just over a minute left in the third quarter, Brunson backed up toward the sideline after draining a three-point field goal and appeared to step on a fan’s foot. He left the game when the Knicks called time and headed to the locker room. He returned to the bench early in the fourth quarter and re-entered the game with 6:35 left and the Knicks trailing 97-95. Josh Hart gave the Knicks the lead with a corner three-pointer after a steal. The Raptors briefly took the lead back before Towns drained a three on a feed from Brunson for a 101-99 advantage. With the score tied at 101 after Barrett's drive, Barrett drove and found Davion Mitchell in the corner for a three-pointer with 3:30 remaining. Brunson answered with a three of his own, drawing a foul on Mitchell on the play and converting the four-point play to give the Knicks a 105-104 lead with 3:03 left. Mitchell gave Toronto the lead, but Towns found Bridges in the corner for a go-ahead three-pointer. This meant something for Barrett. As he prepared to take the court for the Raptors against his former team on Monday night, he sat at his locker and paused for a moment as he considered a question. He thought back through his years in New York and realized that not a single player on the Knicks had been with the team when he arrived in the 2019 NBA Draft. Back then, he was supposed to be the next big thing in New York, the No. 3 overall pick and a turning point for a franchise that had been floundering for years. The Knicks built around him, and then nearly a year ago — Dec. 30, 2023 — he got the call that he was gone. And despite the history there, the key role he’d played, he wasn’t surprised at all. “Lots of stuff,” Barrett said, shaking his head. “Lots of stuff. I think I just got a vibe, kind of figured. I wasn’t really too surprised when it happened.” He was the first of the group that had carried the team to respectability to go, dealt along with Immanuel Quickley to his hometown team in exchange for OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn. Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo eventually followed him out the door in a preseason deal for Towns — and that didn’t surprise him either. “Nah, I think there’s certain things that you see that are out of the usual,” Barrett said. “But I think whenever you get traded, it is a surprise. I didn’t know when it would happen, that fast, that early, but it happened. I’m here and I’m thankful to be here.'' Notes & quotes: With 6:47 to play in the third quarter, Towns and Scottie Barnes collided on a foul by Barnes. Towns was slow to get up, flexing his right knee. Barnes had to be helped off by teammates, limping to the locker room on one leg. He did not return, diagnosed with a sprained right ankle. Steve Popper covers the Knicks for Newsday. While Gronowski was leading an offense that piled up 399 yards, the third-seeded Jackrabbits' defense held the 14th-seeded Grizzlies to 306 yards — but 160 came on two fourth-quarter touchdown drives after the lead reached 35-3. Adam Bock contributed a 30-yard interception return in the fourth quarter. South Dakota State (11-2), which beat Montana 23-3 in the national championship game in January, is home next weekend against sixth-seed Incarnate Word (11-2). He hit Griffin Wilde for a pair of touchdowns covering 34 and 24 yards in the second quarter and scored on a pair of 1-yard sneaks in the first and fourth. Amar Johnson had 103 yards on 16 carries and Angel Johnson totaled 91 yards on 13 rushes. Keali'i Ah Yat was 19 of 32 for 231 yards but had two critical interceptions for Montana (9-5).
